My 14yr old great-niece was spending the day with me to do some art work for her room but when I went to pick her up I realized that today was her mom’s birthday. I gave her the option to do a cake for her mom and she jumped at the chance. We didn’t have much time because she overslept so we rushed home to put something together. I came up with the design and we got to work. I did the measuring but she did all the mixing. I showed her the tutorial by The Violet Cake Shop and she made them with almost no help from me. Cake is chocolate filled with caramel and peanut butter frosted with dark/milk chocolate ganache. Don’t know who was happier the mom or the daughter.

Thanks Luz.
Lovely cake, you both did a great job!!
Bonnie, I think the wonderful thing is that we are all learning from each other.
You always seem to be teaching something new to me too, keep them coming!
love this you must be so proud :)
Completely gorgeous Goreti! The green was definitely a great addition. Honestly this could have been done by a pro.
Thanks you both. She really did a beautiful job. She was so proud. She loved making those petals. It is so easy but looks so cute. I covered the board for her and screwed up on the measurements since I only wanted to cover the area not covered by cake so I made the texture to hide my mistake. Kind of like it like that. Then I thought it need a pop of green so she happily made more petals. She liked doing it so much then we ended up with extra. lol
I just hate it when a 14 year old puts me to shame! LOL! Not really, she did a beautiful job and should be really proud of herself!
