oh ok, thank you very much for all the info...:)
oh ! doh me ,,, i use a heat gun to smooth out my chocolate , and the steamer to shine fondant , never made a transfer,
No, No, No.....you never use "heat"/"steam" for a transfer or it will melt. You only need the heat of your hand.
You use the steamer to add shine too your fondnat covered cake or fondant/gumpaste flowers.
i have a travelers steamer too, i got it long time ago but i didn't use it coz it's not powerful enough for steaming clothes, so you think i can use steamer on chocolate cake transfer? thanx for the info June.
COOL THANK YOU
forgot to add: I use a tea kettle
June and Gail, I don't know if it works on dried covered fondant cakes (because I don't have a steamer) but I have steamed completely dried figures and flowers before and it gives them that nice shiny look, so I don't know why you couldn't do it on a cake covered in fondant that has already dried.
COOL .! LET ME KNOW . PLEASE IF YOU CAN TELL ME WERE TO VOTE ??
Good question galidink. I don't think it really matters, but I will try it both ways. Practicing for the cake I am making for my nephew's wedding in the spring. When I do it will cover 2 dummies, let one "dry", and do the other right away. Try & remember to send you a post with the results. :0)
just wondering . do you have to steam the fondant b4 it drys?
