See what I mean about the ripping. I tried to change the design to hide them. Oh well, everyone loved it anyway.

$5! Crikey they cost a fortune over here.
By the way, Goreti, where did you get those cute button molds?
cool ! just read the post's >>>you did it ; ),well done , its very cute , you know !!an awesome cake decorator ,,can fix anything , we all fix stuff . realy nice job ,
Thanks for letting me know about that recipe because I was thinking of giving it one more try. Honestly as I went along I really felt like I had taken a giant step backwards. The good thing was that I didn't panic or give up. I just took a couple of deep breaths and figured out what I could do with it. The top & bottom, although there were still some issues, did not go as badly as the middle one. When I mixed what I had of MMF with the other fondant, it really helped. The design of the middle was totally to cover up the "mess". The funny thing is everyone loved what they say looked like a skirt. Little do they know. lol
ahhhh, I finally caught up with what and why you were so frustrated, my friend. The recipe you posted for this cake was the very first fondant recipe I had ever made and the first cake I had ever done in fondant. It was a disaster and I seriously had considered maybe fondant just wasn't my medium to work with. Oh, I know the frustration you must have been feeling, Goreti. I do agree with Shaira, though...you can barely see the tear.... It's kind of like when I was a teenager....nobody saw the zit on my face, until I pointed it out to everyone and made a big honking deal out of it-like it was a volcano ready to blow! If I hadn't pointed out my own flaw, I doubt that anyone would have even noticed. Goreti, your cakes are adorable, and, like June said. It's those mistakes that perfect us all. By the way...I threw that recipe away. I was afraid if I kept it, I would not remember the disaster it was and use it again.
katy, i'm embracing every step in my cake decorating journey. lol :P
