Original attempt at a gum paste magnolia is on the left, the second on the right. I believe the second is a little more realistic.

yes I have a container of cornstarch to do that with , but never use it ! lol
The plumeria is all attached together at once. I watched a u-tube video that showed the instructor resting her bloom in a cup of flour with a hole hollowed out in the center. The sides of the container supported the outside of the bloom.
hum ! use cotton balls under the petals
Sort of, but not as tight as a gardenia. It could be my lack of a flower cup or former that is the problem. I got it together, but couldn't find anything the right size to rest it in while it dried. Turned out like a bowl with no movement at all. Ugly.
ok , yup , ! is that in a spinning motion to ? , I tried one ! they look easy !!! NOT !!!
Oh, Gali, good to know the rose petal cutter would be a good choice for the gardenia.
I think you may be talking about the gardenia, Gali. I was talking about trying to make the plumeria. The gardenia is my next challenge :o)
the placement of the petals is like a twister !! first tight twisting than ea one gets less tighter but still in the twisting around the center !
I like making flower petals with out cutters , but if I was to use it for gardenia I would use the rose petal cutter to !
With the first one I used the five petal cutter but did not use as a solid piece. I cut them into individual tear drop shapes. With the second, I just used a round cutter. It wasn't the shape so much. I couldn't get it formed properly. I'll keep trying.
