the cake is a dummy ! but yes the deco's are gumpaste , i make fondant and add tylose to it , to make gumpaste , the bird is a well harden pc i formed a mo b4 than carved with wood carving tools , it was still some what soft enuff to carve nicely ,

yes Laney !!i do when i want it to be able to hold it to carve the shape of the feathers, with wood carveing tools, inside still a bit soft but hard enuff to carve , and hold the shape !you need real good wood carving tools so you get a smooth carve

thank you Laney  ; ), that was the easy part for (me )the bird and the flowers ,i just shaped a lg pc of fondant & tylose , like a bird shape ! let it sit for about a mo. it was much larger ! than i took my carving tools and carved it , than made the wings , had to make another 2 becks the fist snaped off , the 2nd i broke ! and the 3rd got messed up but i said oh well lol , all edible sep 4 the feet,
