Waterskiing Platypus Cake (yes, you read that right)

Conversation goes like this: "Hi Eileen, can you make a cake for Annika's 13th Birthday on July 16?" Me: "Sure - what would you like on it?" Friend: "Not really sure, she's on the Hoday Waterski Team." Me: "Are there any animals she likes?" Friend: "She likes platypuses."

Cake is one layer vanilla, one layer chocolate with milk chocolate mousse in the middle. Frosted in buttercream, platy is fondant and the "rope" is just floral wire.
