The gold stripes are ribbon. The bottom two tiers are fake cakes, so on the tier they were cutting (second from the top) I actually left a gap for them to cut the cake in the back. When she first showed me the design of this cake, I thought gold roses were kind of fake looking, but after my hubby airbrushed the roses I made gold, I thought the turned out really cool looking! beautiful Melanie.  Are the gold stripes ribbon or have you painted them on?  Hard to see on the picture, but so effective.
