Gail, you just don't know how much I admire your skills. You are an artist in my book. I agree with Katy. Not to mention, we have all watched you and have seen how tenacious you are. You work and work and work until you become a master! This cake is gorgeous! And I love these colors!
I couldn't agree more Katy. And you description of the feelings this cake exudes is spot on.
Gail, don't give up. Keep on piping - I think the results are lovely here. You have your own style and this cake has an air of gaiety and wildness about it. Let me tell you, I would be more than happy to receive a cake like this! I know what you mean about wishing you had started earlier - I don't practice anything like enough to get really good and age takes it's toll on your joints so it becomes more and more difficult. But if you enjoy it - do it! The creative side of us won't let us stop lol!
