I was asked to do another cake ! I had to make a doggy
I made a two tier fruit cake ( small one ) So i made another doggy with a red ribbon and a tree dusted with lustre powder. I made a red bow for the dog. The poinsettias again i used the luster dust holly green and the snowflake white.
The base i made to look like snow with tye dresden tool.
Your so right Katy, how did i ever manage without one LOL
Again, sorry for poor picture. I never seem to finish a cake in daylight !
Thanks for looking and any comments.

Ha!
Hells bells - your cake ordering is really taking off!
OOh! Ok, i will give it a try, ive got another order for a cake so i cant try it !
Thanks Katy
:-)
Glycerine is what stops your royal from going rock hard. The more you add, the softer it will be, till it can become almost like a fondant.
Thanks Katy. I googled it and i read about glycerine but wasnt sure if it was a must.
Cant wait to try it :-)
Depends whether you will want to eat it comfortably or not. It won't matter for the effect, although without, it will dry into harder peaks and is more likely to stay in shape.
Ok, do i need to put glycrine in ?
lis
Yes Lis, works best with royal, especially as you can get that white. Would probably work with butter icing too, but your colour might not look right.
Thats ok Katy ! Call in anytime !
Have you had any snow ? Everything still white here and bloomin cold ! Perfect excuse to stay indoors in the warm and make sugarpaste flowers and cakes !! Ha!
' Like a cow with a gun ' i like it ! Yor not that bad lol
The snow effect you suggested, is that the royal icing ?
Sorry I didn't make it Lis - got a bit frosty up here lol. Another time.........
I'm fussy about wrapping too - always colour schemed to go with the decorations and the dinner table. Daisy always asks - what colour scheme this year Nanny? But that doesn't mean I like doing it! Basically, I'm rubbish at it - like a cow with a gun, my Ma used to say.
Lis for your snow effect, this is the easiest and oldest trick in the world. Put your icing on with a 'sticky' consistency. Get a small pallet knife and dab it up and down on the icing while it's still wet. It brings it to small random peaks. Then sprinkle with just a hint of rainbow dust or similar to give it the glistening snow effect. Tada, you have snow.
