My First Sugarpaste Swan !!
Firstly, im sorry for the poor photo. I will try and get a better one.
Now, my mum doesnt like cakes,nor chocolate. Although she loves the icing on cakes !
So, i decided to make her this to keep !
It was hard work and has taken me nearly all day !!
The base is actually a mirror. The rest is sugarpaste.
Its not quite finished, i was getting imptient lol
The swans wings, which you cant see that well were the easiest bit ! I used scissors at an angle and cut into the paste. I did the same on the body and for the tail. The hardest bit was the neck. I made the reeds and painted the outside with green lustre dust & the inside with the blue to create water ( ish ! ) And dusted the edges of the bottom of the wings with the blue too.
The flowers i used the lustre dust and went over the swan with snowflake dust. The picture looks as if its wet but its the glitter dust.

Thank you June and Goreti. It did take all day but that was just waiting for the sugarpaste to harden before painting etc but it was worth it ! Will finish it tomorow Hope mum likes it.

Thank you so much !! I kind of had a picture in my head what i wanted it to look like. Its not quite right but its not a bad first attempt. I thought of the mirror as it shows the reflection of the swan as if hes looking into he water at his reflection ! I just wish i could get a better pic showing the lustre colours and the feathers better !
Thought my mum was feeling left out so i came up with this. She loves swans. Id been looking on Sugar Teachers .. WOW ! And thought mm i could do something.
I'll finish it off later. Got so carried away, didnt realise the time and im starving !!
