An 8" across, by 6" high, cake. NOT counting the ribbon. lol Starting at the bottom, alternating chocolate & yellow layers, with chocolate buttercream between layers, and as the topcoat. This lady saw my cake #2, and wanted one 'just like it'. So I proceded to use buttercream, instead of June's chocolate fondant, and I added a lot more daisies. Also put the ribbon effect fondant around the bottom. Just a few minor changes, and she loved it! Only the 'bow' was about the same. lol

pretty, love the bow
When I make my bows, I never put the warm candy melt "glue" on cake. I put a blob on a plate, arranged 1st row of bow loops, added more "glue" & loops and worked my way to the top.The melts harden fast or place in frig. Pop off plate and place finished bow on cake. Worked every time.
tee hee Bonnie!
I think RI would work better on buttercream, because the hot, or even warm, chocolate is going to send the buttercream running, screaming, down hill! lol
Sandra, I should think chocolate is probably along the line of RI, when being used as a 'glue'.
Hi Katy Nott! We will 'Stick' together on this one. lol
lovely cake! I use RI wherever possible for glueing stuff together too! Never fails.
Thanks Betty. I don't usually have candy melts around, and RI is so quick & easy to make using meringue powder. The kids like to play with any, and all, leftovers, in a bag with a tip, because they know they get to eat it when it dries! Nothing ever really goes to waste around here. They love crunching on it.
I am not sure that I knew to use RI when I made the bow. Seems to me I tried the chocolate but must not have put enough, because it didn't hold the loops up very well. I will try it again someday :o)
Pretty ... Nice bow. Another thing you could try is melted candy melts to hold it. Works fine. That's what I used on my wedding cake bows.
Just the other side, showing the random placement of the daisies. And the buttercream was not smoothed out on this one. This was for my neighbor's granddaughter, the not so small one! lol
