this cake is so adorable ..
Sandra, since the head is a real struggle for me I usually leave it for last. I know I am going to get ticked off so I put it off for as long as I can. Since I didn't have much time to play with for this one, I decided to go with the head first.
I love the topper on a separate board, too. I did that with the Tom and Jerry cake for both the main cake and the smash cake, which allowed me to make them several days in advance. Goreti, I always make my model's head first, as you said, just in case.... :o)
I had seen that done by others and it really makes a lot easier to place it on the cake. No worry about how to get it to stand. You can just add at the last minute with no worries. Had the cake in the fridge until about about 30 minutes before I had to leave. Melted some candy melts and voila. Just put it back in the box & leave.
By the way, I meant to say that I like your idea of putting the topper on a board, then just add the lot. Then you can get it all done in advance - might knick that idea............
Thanks everyone. Yes I believe she liked it. She saved the topper
so beautiful - her pose is just right. lol - shoes are perfect too.
Have to admit that I really enjoyed making her. This time I made the face first just in case it didn't come out right.
She is so pretty! Love her polkadot bow!
