Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Thjs cake was made for a lovely lady who turned 90. Butter cake filled with "Cajeta", covered with italian meringue. Fondant decorations, no petal cutters used. Roses and number were dusted with pearl dust.

I think that link might have come from Goreti (or possibly me lol!).  Can't remember, but it sure is an easy way of doing them.

Thank you ladies for you lovely comments!  She is a very special person for us, known her for all or my life, she is my mom´s best friend.  The party was held on a Saturday, so I began to make the flowers and the leaves and the little white decorations that will go at the back of the flower´s arrangement the previous weekend, and I was still making them by thursday.  I didn´t really had it clear how I was going to arrange it, so I made 30 flowers, some with wire, some with toothpicks and some of them just to sit them (without toothpick or wire) wherever needed.  Some had leaves.  And also three long lines of leaves, and I ended up using two that are surrounding the topper.  I followed that link someone posted (sorry I don´t remember who but THANK YOU!) of the petals made with your fingers using a plastic bag.  WONDERFUL WAY TO MAKE THEM!
