Buttercream cake with fondant decorations. This the 1st time stenciling and the use of Duff's fondant. I combined traditional decorating with todays. I love the fondant(LOL).

Hi Yvette, so far I've used Wilton for flowers or decorations that I need to dry hard. I mostly use MMF or make a buttercream fondant to cover cakes. So I ventured out with my 50% off coupon from Michaels to try Duff's. Read a lot of mixed opinions about his product. This sparked my curiousity. With using Duff's fondant, follow the instructions, microwave, make sure the microwave has a lower setting. If your work area has a lot of heat/humidity, I guess this makes the fondant really softer. I triedDuff's with the AC on at night, so the house was really cold. It worked for me, even when I cut the ribbon and stamp them with the acrylic stamp, it held its shape. With working on six cakes, the fondant set out and didn't dry up, matter of fact I didn't cover them with plastic to keep them drying up, it was still workable, it was still soft, yet firm. I used a mixture of cornstarch and powder sugar to roll it out. Would I use it again. Yes, my friend who I made this for, says the whole cake was delicious. I hope this helps.
Pam
