it was a normal 6 inch pan..the dome created while baking is what I used for the top and just trimmed the hard edge that formed to make it more rounded. Barely any carving on this but I'm sure it's depending on how yours bakes.
awesome thanks so the cake you used for the wings was just a normal 6inch cake not a domed cake pan the wings look like a bowl cake cut in half r u able to send me some pictures showing the back of the lady bug on the cake?? if u have any? my email address in mummy4@ymail.com thanks so much for helping me out this is such a beautiful cake u are very talented i hope mine turns out at leased a little bit as good as urs lol im still learning this cake decorating thing :D
the cake recipe was so beautiful in texture and easily carved in half (no crumbs!) I used the domed side up and trimmed to make slightly more rounded edges. The cake recipe was from this site..Edna's recipe for white almond cake (only I doubled the vanilla as my friend doesn't love almond flavoring)
thank you! The lady bug body is a simple 6 inch cake cut in half, iced and covered with Duff's pink fondant. The body is a rice crispie wedge iced and again covered in fondant. The Head is also rice crispie treat formed into a ball using a plastic 2 piece ornament (snap together type) that I used for a mould. Iced and covered in fondant..the smile is with a food writer pen..all else is colored fondant. We carved the back of the ball out to fit over the cake and covered it with fondant so it wouldn't show the rice crispie treat.
this is awesome so cute can u please let me know how u made the lady buy on top is it cake?? r u able to give me some instructions so i can make one please this is the best cake so damn cute
