Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Almond/vanilla cake with raspberry filling and almond/vanilla cream cheese frosting. Decorated with cream cheese frosting and fondant cutouts and bow. First time I had ever touched fondant. This was made about three years ago. You can tell by looking that I knew nothing about cake decorating! Karla was pleased, though.

Thanks, all.  Katy, it did scare me to death.  Karla is my niece and got married at my sister's house.  I transported all the layers separately (carried the bow in my hands for 65 miles) and assembled it after I got there.  I makes me want to cry when I think about how much nicer cake I could make for her today.  She is pregnant, though, and I am planning to make her a killer "welcome baby" cake!

You are too kind, Betty.  It is really pretty awful, but at the time, I didn't know any better and poor little Karla loved it.  See why I so admire your piping!!!  The cake looked homely, but it was scrumptious.
