Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I had sculpted just about everything you see here out of isomalt. Each rock, each scale, each toenail. I make my own mold to cast the outside border and flex forms to cast the entire base. I finished by airbrushing each piece.

1st and 2nd were stringwork.  The amazing Rosemary Galpin came in first in Masters.  It was tough competition!  All the pieces were beautiful.  I think it is hard to figure out where to place Sid's particular kind of art, but she said it was a lot of fun to compete.

Thanks!  It was a labor of love!  This one is Sidney's piece and she entered it at That Takes the Cake in Austin and came in 3rd in Masters.  It took her several weeks but only worked on it here and there so the actual time is not documented.
