Just in time for spring! And Mother's Day!

6 layers in 6 different flavors, dressed Hawaiian style! With matching flavored marshmallow buttercream, and appropriate *GummyGel & fruit toppings per layer.

I used bakers grease, equal amounts of flour, Crisco, & oil, to cover the bottom only of three 6" tins. I cut 18, 22" x 3", strips of parchment paper, can get 4 from each 22" long piece. These were placed around the inside walls of the tin, and anchored in place with a little shortening, paper to paper.

Using three 6" pans, put 1 1/3 cups batter in each, about 2/3s full, and bake per instructions.

Remove from oven, loosen parchment paper as needed from side of pan, remove cake by picking up on the paper, and the cake will come with it. Place cake on cooling rack, peel off the paper, and immediately brush on the simple syrup, cover the cakes with saran wrap, and put them in the fridge to cool, not on the rack.

To assemble the cake, starting at the bottom, and working up, we have:

#6 (bottom)- A lemon cake with lemon/lime flavored marshmallow buttercream, topped with lemon, & lime, flavored GummyGel gems, and lemon & lime zest.

#5- To complete this pair of light & dark, we have a pure mint chocolate cake with pure mint flavored marshmallow buttercream, topped with pure mint flavored GummyGel gems, & grated chocolate. (pure mint, not peppermint)

#4- A pineapple coconut cake with coconut flavored marshmallow buttercream, topped with finely chopped coconut flakes & pineapple.

#3- To complete this pair of light & dark, an orange chocolate cake with orange flavored marshmallow buttercream, topped with orange flavored GummyGel gems, & zest from an orange.

#2- A golden yellow cake with vanilla & almond flavored marshmallow buttercream, topped with sliced strawberries & grated dark chocolate.

#1 (top)- A fudge chocolate cake with vanilla & almond flavored marshmallow buttercream, topped with a sprinkle of powdered sugar(witch soaked in & mostly disappeared!), then 3 pools of the marshmallow buttercream with 3 of the juiciest big red strawberries I could find!!

Hi!

On my sister's version of the Naked Hawaiian, I probably had the straws a little too tall, because when I separated them to cut, the tops were all still intact, not messed up a bit, so still very pretty!  Since it was not a problem, they must have at least been even in height! lol  A was very fortunate that time.  This was my first ever tall cake...

Just a thought... is there a rule, reason, about only stacking 5 high??  I saw that mentioned somewhere in my travels online.  Is the uneven number better in appearance?

Hi Goreti!  (they WERE!!!)  I have finally given away all the extra cakes, in 2 layer combos, after decorating them first, of course...  The 7 yr, old from next door came in this morning, and decorated  the remaining ones for me!  Then we walked around to the neighbors, passing out the cakes.  Of course, she took the strawberry one home with her!   She squooooshed that one in front before I could stop her, but did better on the rest of them.  I never turn down help! lol

Hi Betty, and thanks.   Me tooo!!  My personal favorites are 3 & 4!  I love the chocolate oranges you can usually find around Christmas & Easter.  I always buy enough to last me several months, but I could not find any this year.
