Well 2 decorating shops, but there both in Mississauga. McCalls...... not there retail store, there warehouse on Fewster Dr. and Golda's Kitchen, Argentia Rd. Now McCalls can be hit or miss, meaning, they don't always have certain supplies when you go. A ton of pros shop there, so stuff goes pretty quickly. Now Golda's, small shop on the inside, but they have a huge warehouse behind the shop. What I do is go online, order, then pick up the next day after 2.30pm. It is only 45 min from my house. Shipping prices are pretty good too Diane, so you might ck them out as far as ordering supplies.
Hope this is helpful. :o)
Well I appauld you Diane. I have fiddled making gumpaste flowers, but only individual ones, never a group wired & taped together. A challange you have accomplished. I have purchased a Craftsy class on flowers, just haven't gotten around to watching & doing. By the way, my nephew lives in Coquitlam, BC. :o)
Thanks everyone. June I took the first three Wilton classes, but learned the most from watching Youtube videos. I have signed up for a few craftsy classes. That is where I learned the fondant frills.
It took me about 2 months to make all the flowers on my days off. The second tier was suppose to have frills too but my pasta maker broke doing the top layer, (it was a blessing in disguise because It was quite a job for my first one and doing everything else for the wedding.)
I must say having this website has been a blessing, lots of great tips and inspiration.
Gorgeous...... just stunning. Did you take any gumpaste flower courses... online perhaps, like Craftsy?? Your very talented.
Gorgeous!
When my daughter became engaged, I told her I wanted to make her wedding cake. I am not a baker and had never made a cake besides bday cakes with shaped pans and buttercream when my girls were little. I had no Idea I could do this. It would have been much cheaper to buy one, but the joy it brought me to do this is priceless. My oldest daughter is getting married next August and looking forward to creating another wedding cake.
