Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I had only been home 4 days from a weeks vacation when I re-packed and hopped on a plane this past Friday to come see my daughter & grandson. My daughter said absolutely NO cake for her birthday, which was today. :o( so I decided to make her this clay craft (paper) open white rose as a keep sake. Was crazy busy those 4 days so I literally made this rose the night before I flew out!! We did go to a amazing local bakery for her birthday lunch and Sam relented and let me buy her a red velvet cupcake. I didn't make it...but I have to admit....it sure was yummy......

Thanks Goreti & Gail.
Gail: that's one of the things I really, really like about the clay craft. It looks so very real. I actually carried the rose, well wrapped in paper towels & bubble wrap, in a small zip lock bag on the plane. Stuff is do flexible, it bounces. It got squished under my purse going through security...didn't hurt it one bit. Would have been nervous with a gumpaste rose!! I brought my glue, wire and green florists tape with me in my suitcase and put it together here. I actually sprinkled water on the petals before I took it outside on Sam's deck to photograph.
