I used fondant with a little gum tex. It was silky smooth.

Diana - did you use fondant and gum paste mixed together? My all-fondant roses don't look as smooth as this.

Yes ~ they look like upside down tears. Just take the smallest rose cutter, roll it up into a ball then shape them to look like tear drops. I'll post it.

Great job Diana! Do you have a pic of your center before you added the petals. That's where I go wrong I think.
