Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I don't have any cakes to do in the near future, so I decided to 'play' with my leftover fondant from the last wedding cake I made. I have made six little guys so far, and have a whole pile of fondant left! I did add gum paste for the sign and the hat brim so that they would dry harder.

@Lynne, the tail feathers were very easy to do. I used two different sizes of the fluted Fat Daddio pastry/cookie cutter set (http://www.globalsugarart.com/product.php?id=27896&name=Fluted%...) and cut them in half. Then I marked the center of each 1/2 piece with a dot from a toothpick. I used the Wilton fondant roller cutter to lightly scour the feather marks down to the centered dot. The I used a flat sculpting tool to mark the line that is down the center of each feather, and used a toothpick to mark the angles on each feather. It was easy peasy! Slapped the two together with gum paste glue, and let it set up hard enough to be able to stand up against the turkey's behind, and then gum paste glued that to his behind.

the whole turkey is really sweet/awesome, cute but.............those feathers!!  Do you have a mold to make them?  How tall is he?

Thank you Barb and Iris. I made this little guy for our upcoming cake club in November. We have a challenge making turkeys in any medium.
