Thank you so much, Luz! I had Ron Ben-Israel envy for his gum paste stands, so had to try it even though I didn't really have a good mold. The roses are made with Platinum Paste, a professional gum paste which is just wonderful for flowers.
Sandra this is gorgeous!! Wow so breautiful, and the cake stand is amazing. Love all the decorations, those roses are beautiful!!
Thank you so much, Goreti! Give yourself a pat on the back for the roses. It was you who introduced me to Platinum Paste (You should be getting a commission for all that has been sold in the US!) and making the petals without cutters - you and Gali both on that one.
LOL .. YOUR OVER THE TOP . NOW Sandra ...
Gali, when sugar art is your avocation and you have a whole world of amazing teachers, you cannot help but improve. You guys have taught me soooo much, and besides, you would kick my butt if I didn't get better - lol! Thank you, again, my friend!
Thanks, again, Denise. Ron B-I just uses the gum paste / fondant stand on a few of his cakes...omg, isn't he amazing! Yes, it is the Wilton Baroque mold...the only one I have, but I've used it quite a bit. Now, this is how I design a cake - I actually made the stand first because I wanted to see if it would work, then I had to figure out a design that would match it. Bonnie gave me the lace molds and cake lace recipe, so I wanted to use them - OK! That works, lace and baroque...good to go :o)
you came such a long way . in such a short time . Sandra I am proud of your work your doing . saying my friend did this beautiful cake . amazing . yes Denise CLAP..BROVO . IS THE RIGHT WORDS . now she can teach use ...<3
Oh I love Ron Ben-Israel's cakes!! I wasn't aware he made his own cake stands but not at all surprised. I will have to check that out as I think the cake stand/base is equally as important as the cake. It sets the stage for the cake. Is that the Wilton baroque mold you have used? The scroll work looks familiar. I used that one on combination w/the Wilton Lace mold to achieve the design for the masquerade cake I made. I think it was an excellent choice for the cake stand. It has a shabby chic/vintage look which really compliments the design of your cake. CLAP...CLAP...CLAP...BRAVO!!
Hugs and kisses, sweet Galidink! Thank you! The great teaching, tips and encouragement that I've received from all of you (you know who you are) on this site make it possible for me to grow in this fun retirement hobby...I just love it.
