Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Had some leftover gumpaste so decided to try something I had never done. Not sure if I got the size of the petals right. This was done totally freehand. Not cutters, used corn husk to vein the bauhinia petals. Vein on leaves done with cocktail stick. Broke one of the petals when putting it together so decided to make it look like insects had gotten to it.

The variation in size makes the arrangement more interesting.  I know what you mean about running out of room, because I have the same problem.  Have you considered exhibiting any of your flowers?  They would be perfect for the non-cake division and they are surely good enough!

Thanks Sandra.  I've never seen them either so.  I think the first one that I did is too large so I reduced the size on the other two.  I have no idea what the heck I'm going to do with it.  Running out of room in my china cabinet.

Goreti, these are just beautiful!  I have never before heard of a bauhinia, so I looked them up on-line.  Yours are perfect.  Clever idea using the corn husk as a veiner.
