Decided to practice doing some roses since I've never been happy with my previous efforts. Getting closer to what I want to achieve.

The colouring is so perfect too!
June - I have 3 different size ball tools and I find the 2 smaller ones always tear the paste, so I've given up using them. The larger one always works perfectly (plastic).
I think this is why I haven't been happy with my roses. Petals weren't thin enough. Were yours pure gumpaste or 50/50? When I make my gumpaste thin, I inevitably tear it when applying my ball tool. How did you prevent that when you were applying so much pressure??? Ladies at my cake club swear by their stainless steel ball tool. Never seen one here in either of the cake supply stores I frequent. Wonder if it would be better.
They are really thin. As a matter of fact I have a inexpensive (in other words cheap lol) ball tool which is plastic and I broke it from the pressure I was putting on it. I had put the petals in plastic but they were still getting a little dry and I had to put more pressure in order to thin them the way I wanted to. Good thing I have more than 1 ball tool.
o my this is so good Goreti the petals look really thin
