I have found that cherry filling does that. The cake I just did yesterday had the same issue. Even with a decent-sized dam. Hey, Armadillos are lumpy! :)

Thanks Eileen...I hope it holds up for the party...the sides are bulging with cherry pie filling, I think I should have built a bigger dam around the filling...live & learn!
