I received a free mini class from Craftsy called "The Hand Painted Cake".
I'm making a baby shower cake for my niece in June. She's having a girl &
she loves rescuing dogs so going w/a "puppy" themed cake. I decided to use
what I learned from the class to make this decoration for her cake.

Thanks again Sandra. I was thinking, this may be the solution to my flower problem. If I can't make em, I can paint em...lol
Oh, you did a wonderful job, Denise! As Katy said, don't know how you could get much better!
Thanks so much Katy, for the compliment & the vote of confidence :-)
don't think you need to get any better Denise! This is just adorable and a really great job
Thanks Sandra. I had actually found another pic of one that had a diaper & pacifier that I considered using but it looked too boyish. Most "puppy" baby shower themes are for boys anyway. You know the "snips & snails & puppy dogs tails". This was my 1st try at this. I hope to get better at it in time.
I just love this puppy! Keep looking at her :o)
This is just gorgeous, Denise!! You did a wonderful job and your choice to use puppies is perfect.
Thank you Maria. That's very kind of you to say but I'm no artist. I don't know the first thing about drawing or painting. In that mini class The instructor showed how to trace a picture then transfer it onto fondant. That's what I did here. I found a picture of a cute little girly looking puppy, traced it, transferred it onto gumpaste, & did my best to paint it the way it appeared in the picture. I really enjoyed the class & I feel like it opened up new creative opportunities for me in cake decorating.
Wow!!! You're a good artist!!!
