My first hydrangea - Made for Show-and-Tell at the next Cake Club, Nashville meeting. Patsy demonstrated how to make the hydrangea at the last meeting and we are supposed to bring in our effort for the next meeting.

Oh, I bet that is pretty with a touch of pink!  I know you are supposed to fertilize regularly for your color preference, but I am pretty sporadic about it.

mine do the same Sandra.  I'm pretty sure it happens as the bush gets older and there is no definite swing to acid or alkaline in the soil, as you say.  I have a white lace cap that this year started to show signs of pink creeping in.

Thank you sweet, Inoka!

Katy, you crack me up!  This is my first hydrangea.  I just made it the color of he blooms on my bush.  My soil must be a fairly neutral balance between acidic and alkaline because they are a mixture of blue, purple and pink.  It was aggravating, though, because it took longer to brush on the colors than to make the flowers.  Thank you for your sweet comments.

Goreti, somewhere I read that you should assemble the hydrangea before it is completely dry and a little flexible.  That is what I did and had no breakage of the florets.  However, that is why the leaf collapsed and fell off the wire.  Should have waited for the leaves to dry overnight, but I pulled a Bonnie and got impatient :o)

I'm stunned by the colour graduation on this Sandra - must have taken ages to perfect like that.  Bet you are going to be the envy of your class.
