Another disaster. But I will get it right!

Bettina, you are just too funny for words! I love all you guys for the uber super support. You're right, I won't trash it as it does have a certain ' je ne sais quoi'! I'll put you all out of your misery and tell you it was an attempt at a gladiolus.............. from instructions by Shaile. Please note, the result is no reflection on Shaile's instructions, just my lack of ability. Having watched lots of vids on youtube, I think I have an idea where I'm going wrong. I'm finding the veined petal format really challenging and think I need more equipment and more courage. Gonna have another attempt next week.
Nope, not an orchid either lol!
Nope, 'fraid not Goreti & June!
I'm siding with the orchid guess. Though, Bettina, yours is pretty good too ;-). Don't trash it Katy, and don't give up! The detail is beautiful!
I really love the veining on the petals and coloring. It looks really good.
As much as I admire the work of those who make uber realistic flowers, I am tending to lean more to the fantasy flower realm these days. I have made some HUGE flowers that I call peony, but aren't really, They could be a full blown rose, but they're not. They're just something with a lot of petals that masquerades as a real flower, and unless the client is a botanist, they don't care what it is as long as it looks the part.
So I am going to say that this is a dragon flower, that comes from the upper mountainous regions of Uzbekistan and only flowers once every 10 years. It is a symbol of resiliance and strength bonded with beauty and longevity!......so there!
i love the petals , they have real nice movement , and color !
I agree....don't trash it Katy. can be put together with other flowers as a bouquet.
YES I REALY AM GOING MORE ON THE ORCHID SIDE , CHECK OUT THE PETALS , LOOKS LIKE ORCHID,S TO ME !
its realy pretty anyway , so dont trash it , NO DISASTER HERE !
