Paige, I think you have taken the original design a few steps further by adding the interesting boarders and the yellow fondant.  Beautiful.

I should also add that the client had sent me a photo to work from- 

I believe she saw the photo on Pinterest, but I think it had come from Whipped bakery in Philadelphia

Thank you! I love that this is a trend. Sometimes the couple finds out the gender, tells us, then we create the cake and they use it to have a party and tell family & friends. OTHER times, though, the expectant couple will have the Dr. office inform us OR the couple will bring a us a sealed envelope with the ultrasound results; so THEY don't even know. THEN, it's a surprise for EVERYONE when they cut into the cake. It's terrific- we love to get the photos & feedback from the couples afterward- a really nice part of this business. Then, it's even a greater thrill to get asked to then create the baby shower sweets, the Christening, the 1st birthday, etc. I'm proud to say that we have created these for several families; from wedding cake to 1st birthday- amazing, our clientele. I'm so grateful for them :)
