My good friend had a baby shower for her now 1 yr old grandson. I offered to make the cake, but her daughter had a friend who made it for "free" Well....."you get what you pay for". I could tell she was still a novice from the execution of the cake , but cake & cupcakes were cute. The cake was so-so, was a little too dry. The cupcakes tho.....yuk. I took a bite, and had to sneak into the bathroom so I coud spit it out. Like linda said, it was stuck in my throat they were so dry.

I agree too, June and Goreti. My cousin got married in Estes Park Colorado one year and it was an outdoor wedding and reception with the Mountains as the backdrop-beautiful, by the way, and her cake was just gorgeous under a canopy, and then they started serving pieces of the wedding cake, which was carrot, and I was so looking forward to it, but the first bite was like eating sawdust! It was so dry it caught in your throat! You literally had to search for something to drink before you choked.

You are so right June. It's such a let down when you look at a beautiful cake but then you taste if and "yuck".

The B & G loved it. This was a old chocolate cake recipe froway back my Mom always made for celebrations. I sort of put my spin on it. B wanted really chococlatey. Bottom was sour cream lemond pound cake with lemon curd filling. That was a HUGE hit apparently. Guests coming back for more. That brought a smile to my face. Cakes just can't look good, they have to taste good too.

OH NO ! YOU DIDNT JUST TELL ME THAT ,LOL ! OMG .SOMTHING I DIDNT NEED TO KNOW , HE HE , OH BOY I LOVE KEYLIME CAKE THAT I USE LEMON CURD TO MAKE IT LIME CURD , BY ADDING A SPOON OF LIME JELLO MIX AND LET SIT . THAN ITS YUMMY
