Hi Frances, sent you a friends request,  I have tried every way there is to cover the up right cakes, the best way, is brush with apricot jam, then a thin layre of marzipan and then your fondant, if your up right cake is sponge, them  omit the marzipan and put 2 thin layres of fondant. nows the tricky part measure your cake length and width, x3 for width and 2in for length, then roll. make an invisible seam and then stand up right and smooth off, good luck bx

Hi there

I love this cake!  I've recently started doing upright cakes but find it such a mission to cover the cake with fondant.  Pls can you give me some tips on how to do this?  Do you cover from the top or do you wrap it around?
