my first sculpted cake. i really loved doing this cake! when i delivered this cake to my client, she said, "I don't want to put a hole in it for the candle. if i could, i'd frame this." her comment really made my day :D

Yes June - it's the tradition of blowing them out while they are sung to that's the bummer. I just can't cure them of it. So, when it's appropriate, I incorporate a candle into the design of the cake. So with Rastamouse, it was his 'spliff'!, for the Ferrari - circuit night lighting, Betty - cigarette holder aso.
I haven't used candles in years and years. There so annoying. Only see restaurants use them nowadays.
Of course, don't know what I would do if I had grandchildren??? Children do so love to blow out candles.
For my daughters, I don't bother with candles. I refuse to put it on my cakes. The rest of the family still uses them. I cringe when I see them coming at my cakes with candles.
thank you! i do the same... although sometimes, i put a small mark to suggest where the candle should be put so that it doesn't destroy the "view", but of course, my clients still end up putting where they want it. lol
So lovely Shaira. And I HATE putting candles in my cakes. Absolutely refuse to do it until the absolute last moment..........
It is very pretty--really love the colors
Cute..... :o)
