This was my first venture into Poured fondant. It's a cherry madeira cake covered in white almond marzipan and then white poured fondant. All sunflowers are handmade and tinted and the leaves and vines are mainly marzipan too.

My GOODNESS Tracy...!!!! That is just STUNNING...!!! I LOVE it!!!!... My apology for taking so long to find it...!!! WOW!!!
Can't buy the poured fondant mix here in Canada. But you can take either your homemade or store bought fondant and "melt" it the micro. You add a little more water & corn syrup so it becomes runny. I did it a long, long time ago. I had forgoten that mine cracked also. Have now read that after it is completely dry on your cake, you can use a pastry brush and lightly brush a mixture of shortening mixed with a little bit of corn syrup on the fondant. Suppose to "seal" it. Mine looked like those crafts that were sprayed with "crackle spray". And my family thought I did it on purpose. I use to smoosh my bc iced cakes with a clean pot scrubber cause I could never get it smooth & flat, so I gave it my own "finish". Still do it if I am in a hurry. Gives a nice affect, and like yours, people assume it is a speacial "technique"...... hee hee
Very, Very pretty indeed Tracy
