This was my first venture into Poured fondant. It's a cherry madeira cake covered in white almond marzipan and then white poured fondant. All sunflowers are handmade and tinted and the leaves and vines are mainly marzipan too.

This is so pretty. Love your sunflowers
Yes Tracy, it doesn't set as hard as normal icing - but does taste great no?
Thanks Mandy,
Poured fondant is something that my customer requested and I panicked about lol. It's the kind of icing you find on a Mr Kipling's French Fancy. Silverspoon make a Fondant icing mix, just like normal icing box but aqua blue not pink. You just mix it with a tiny amount of water and it makes a thickish flowing fondant that you pour on. I thought it would be really messy but I must have fluked the right consistancy as it worked a treat. It stays really glossy, but it does crack a little like egg shell china if you add decorations like I did. Tx
