Thank you for your lovely comments. I'll post some pictures on Thursday. So far so good. My fruit cake tiers are extremely drunk on fine cognac and the chocolate tier goes in the oven tomorrow. Thank goodness I've got the hang of Tappits now - they drive me loopy the other day (& that was just for a name) lol. Tx

Oh yes - that sounds really lovely.  The fairy lights will pick up those gorgeous butterflies and really make them sparkle.  He's a lucky guy to have chosen you for his cake maker, he wouldn't get that kind of consideration from many others, I'm sure.

Hubby's family are in Alverstoke, nr Gosport - although I need to be back for picking my son up from school - it will be a flying visit, which is a shame. Enough time to set up. My client has just told me he forgot to hire a stand (I decided I wouldn't hire one as to the logistics of getting it back). He's asked me to make it look nice on the table. Think I'm going to buy some sheer fabric and add a string of battery powered white fairy lights under the gently gathered material. Might ever make a couple of extra butterflies.

Yeh - kids and cake in the same car is a recipe for disaster I would think.  My brothers live in New Milton  so I know that area quite well.  Perhaps you could cadge a cup of tea off them ha ha!

He's in Denmead in Hampshire, straight up from Portsmouth. I'm not far from the A3 and 53.4 miles are on that - I've managed to con my sister into looking after the girls for me - so big phew there.
