Birthday cake for my daughter's best friend. Chocolate cake filled with blackberry curd covered in a mix of milk & dark chocolate ganache. Didn't get it as smooth as I would have like but still happy with it. My daughter is going to surprise her friend with this tomorrow. Hopefully she likes it.

awesome ; )
You can't really tell in the picture by I mixed gold & a little orange. I've had those stencils for so long but had never used. Figured I would give it a try.
well Goreti , I see how awesome you made this look something I will have to try also , I did buy some stencils at ACMOORE in there sidewalk sale box's , yours is so pretty , that's gold luster ?
Thank you Betty & Amy
Very nice. And congrats on making it to the top 3 in cakes decor. :-D
Simply beautiful!!!! And it looks delicious too.
I don't have that kind of patience either. I guess if it was for a paying customer I might have tried a little harder. I think for a free birthday cake it looks pretty good. Funny thing is I have the patience for the flowers. I don't mind spending a lot of time doing them.
Watched the vid Goreti. She does a fantastic job, but heck what a lot of faffing about! No way do I have that kind of patience..............
Gosh - I didn't realise it was a stencil, you did it really well (I'm a bit messy with them lol!). Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.
Thank you both. @Katy, the accent was done with a stencil & luster dust. I wanted to try the stencils since I have never used them. As far as the ganache, I used this tutorial http://www.threelittleblackbirds.com/2012/10/simply-ganache-a-tutor...
I need to be a little more patient and take more time but after awhile I just say the heck with it. I'm sure if I practiced I could get it smoother.
