this is my very first attempt at a layered cake. I used an imprint mat for the bottom layer, and the quilt type effect (criss-cross lines) with pearl balls for second layer, and the top layer was finished off with a fondant bow (I made the strips and cut out the little stars) You will see the stars I've cut out I pushed onto clear plastic wire...made a knot underneath each star...and it created the effect of falling stars.
