Fall Harvest Basket - 1025f
basket is made of fondant/gumpaste cake inside is chocolate layer, leaves are made of very thin airbrushed fondant. Large pumpkin was carved from red velvet layer cake and covered with a thick coat of fondant and also airbrushed. Goards and small pumpkin were made from smaller carved chocolate layer cakes and also cake putty (cake crumbs and buttercream) then shaped and frozen before dirty icing and fondant or chocolate coating.

Was hoping to get it in with time to spare before the contest ended, however AOL was NOT cooperating! I could not get signed on, and then the browser kept freezing. Oh well, I tried but was like 7 minutes too late. If I had not had the request for the bus cake, I would have been able to concentrate on the fall cake and had it done as soon as I was done work! (Yes I also worked Weds, Fri, Sat, Sun and am on my way in again today!) Oh well, off for two weeks to visit my new grandson in Missouri! Then on to my next project!

It may look real, however it sure fell apart and sagged by the next day when I had to deliver it. I promised the Michael's near me that I would bring them something to eat! The fondant leaves were breaking, as they were so thin, but it did the job for the pictures and thats all that mattered. I am almost as proud of this one as I am of the Masonic cake...but my very favorite so far is the kitty on the pillow!
