Thank you everyone for your comments and questions...First, let me say that it definately helped me to start as an artist first painting, then sculpting with polymer clay and then became a cake decorator only two years ago.  I will share some of the techniques I learned along the way and found by mistakes that worked in my favor!  I am very new to this site, so bear with me as I figure out where to post these tips.

Could you tell how you got the texture on the pumkin and how you married the two colors of the gourd? Thank you!!

Here is a pic of one of the mini cake "gourds" that my husband (and number one fan and cake tester,)Sam got into for breakfast this morning!  No wonder he was being so quiet this morning!
