Giving this cake to my friend for her birthday. Wanted to try a cream cheese fondant recipe that I found on another site. Have mixed feelings. It tasted awesome but it is very hard to work with. Could not get it smooth and very hard to roll out. Not sure if I will use it again.

Goreti... you should teach the class at "Michael's.... and let me know when you do... I'll sign up!!!
Timothy, I did my first flower last year. I have always admired those who could decorate cakes. My daughter decided to give me classes at Michael's last year for mother's day. I loved the gumpaste class. Not too crazy about their method of making some of the flowers so I have read tutorials on line. For these, I used the tutorial from Edna de la Cruz. Don't laugh but I used bottle caps as cutters. Since I don't sell my cakes, I don't want to waste a lot of money on cutters.
I agree, Tim. I can't make flowers worth a darn. The ones that do turn out, take me forever to work on and I get pretty frustrated working with them. I can't believe that Goreti picked it up at a snap of the fingers! The color combination of these are so Victorian looking.
Just looking at your flowers, they look like they were done by someone who has decorated all their life... GREAT "catch up work"...
Timothy, Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot coming coming from one so talented. I wish I had started this new hobby of mine a lot sooner. I might have been able to make a living at it. Now I just do it for the pleasure I get from it. It is always nice to hear something good.
YES!!! THE FLOWER are just beautiful!!!
Your roses are beautiful. I would love to try the fondant. What site are you girls talking about. Hi Linda.
Me too. I want to order that cream cheese flavoring that you sent a link to June. I haven't done it yet, but will when I'm down some on flavorings. That one from that spice barn place. I put it in my favorites.
Well, cake is pretty Goreti. But good to know about the difficulty of the cream cheese. If someone wanted the cream cheese, I would use cream cheese flavoring.
