Used cake balls on a 10" cake covered in fondant and painted to look like wood. Used a press, but didn't like it. Would probably just use a basket weave next time. I don't have an extruder so i used a small round tip and buttercream in different colors. The needles are just bamboo skewers I painted with food coloring with fondant on top.
