Working on a gumpaste dream catcher for a cake I'm making next month for another of my sister-in-laws for her 60th bday. The gumpaste I rolled out for the outer circle was drying pretty fast so came out kind of wrinkly. I think this will probably be the only time wrinkly gumpaste actually worked out to my advantage...lol. I kinda like the effect it gave it. Not finished yet. She doesn't know what the cake design is going to be but specified she wants it to say "Happy Birthday from Mom & Dad in heaven" so I'm planning to put either an icing or wafer paper image of my mother & father-in-law on the heart in the center b/c according to legend the good dreams pass thru the center hole to the sleeping person. Stay tuned for finished product :-)

THis looks great!!
Anxious to see the whole cake! Never heard of a "dream catcher" before, but I love what I see.. And you're right, the wrinkly effect does give it a natural look... Well done.
This is gorgeous already, Denise! And, I agree, a beautiful concept that I know she will love. I need your dreamcatcher to go with my shoe :o)
