I have a request to do a lotus flower, but I'm just wondering does the flower sit on a lily pad? I've read differently...any thoughts?

Eileen, how did you do the pad and flower?

Thanks, Linda! That was actually the second one I had to make.  The first one was much too large and didn't work with the flower.

June - my friend who asked for the cake told me she loved teal, purple, dragonflies and lotus flowers.  She sent me a picture that was similar to this and that's what I worked from.  :)  She's an art teacher so it was a bit intimidating to do something artistic for her.
