Becky, I just came across this http://www.katrienscakes.co.za/cake-projects/winter-wonderland-cake... and thought of you.
How sweet, love the colors!!
The sticking was what I was afraid of - but maybe you're right with letting it dry a bit. Let me know how your Christmas cake comes out!!
Well, I would have tried to cut out after it was on the cake, which is what I intend to do with an inserted plaque on a Christmas cake coming up. lol - never done it, but I guess cover, leave to dry a little so it's not too sticky then gently push your cutter in and hope it comes away cleanly. Measure the thickness of the fondant against your cutter before covering the cake, so you have an idea of how far to go. I would think a scriber tool would be the best thing to persuade it out if it doesn't come away with your cutter. Bit of a wing and a prayer I know, but we can only try right?!
what a pretty little cake! With the stretching problem - did you cut out before you put the fondant on, or after?
sweet
very pretty
I wasn't sure how to go about this. I had issues with the cut out part stretching. Had to do it three times to get it on. Any suggestions or advise on this would certainly be welcome!!! There has to be an easier way. I love the look just couldn't get it.
