The violet is the birth flower for February. A friend has her 70th coming up on the 24th. We are sharing our birthday parties (I will be 60 on the 22nd!), as she is the mother of my stepdaughter, who is kindly doing a family party. I thought I might try and make the other birthday girl a chocolate box of chocolates as a gift (I won't be allowed to cake, sadly). So the violets are made to top the box of chocolates. I used the Culpitt Violet cutter set to make these.

Thanks Lisa. I know, it's awful isn't it, the things we keep adding to our list of things we have to have.
They are SO pretty Katy ! Would love to make these. Another cutter on my list LOL
hum going to check it out thank you katy ;x
There is a pansy cutter Gail, but I bet you could use a plain 5 petal cutter and adapt it?
cool , but what do you use for a pansy cutter ? or is it its own cutter ?
awesome job , TFS Katy ;x
Yes indeed it will Maggie
Thanks for telling! I think it will also work nicely on a pansy :)
Thank you Maggie! Gail, the white centres were made by putting a tiny bit of white petal paste in the middle of the violet before rolling out, so it merged into the colour. Then I dusted with a little extra violet to get the gradient of colour.
yes I love the way she made them with the white in the centers awesome job
