Barbie, I think they would look lovely in a cupcake bouquet. I used this same pattern for some wedding cupcakes I did last month. They were a hit!

Thanks, Jane! I'm new to this too. :) There's a video tutorial on here for buttercream carnations and I watched that first. You use a rose petal tip and basically just do a ruffle all the way around and work your way from the outside in, turning the cupcake as you go.
