Made using all fresh friut. Prepared as you would making an apple pie. Use 3 heaping tblsp of cornstarch to coat all the fruit. Add all your other ingredients-sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and brown sugar to your fruit. Pour into large pie pan. Place 4 tblsps butter on top of the fruit, Cover with pie crust. Cover lightly with tin foil. Bake @ 400 degrees. 1/2 through baking time take foil off to brown. It takes about 1 hr 15 min. depending on your oven. When you see the thickend juice bubbling up, it should be good ENJOY, IT'S SO YUMMY !

yummy ! i mess it up so i buy the rolls lol !
You would be surprised how many people NEVER make a pie from scratch Gail. My neighbour never has, and she is in her early 50's. You & I grew up with a baking Mom, so it is 2nd nature to us. I also make my own pastry. Use my food processor... does it in a snap. You use less liquid making in food processor as well, which makes for a nice short crust. That is a Scottish term. Which means.... flaky....
It's also yummy with fresh strawberries. But I only had apples, cranberries and pomagranates on hand. :)
lol Oh!! Sorry! lol Next time I'll have to take note of every thing. Just figured everyone makes apple pies. Just add some different fruits to it for your christmas pie. xxx
Thanks Gail
When I post recipes, I like to state amounts & detailed instructions. You & I are seasoned bakers. But a novice baker, like my daughter, wouldn't have a clue without specifics. :o)
I used 4 large gala apples, 1 cup of cranberries, 1 cup of pomagranate. Cinnamon & nutmeg to taste. To mix in with the apples, 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 of white sugar. Don't forget the cornstarch and butter, like 5 cubes. We like our pie kinda tart. So, depending on your taste, make it sweeter, or tart. I just throw things 2gether when making pies, and they come out so yummy. It's awesome also with a handfull of chopped pecans.
Gail
Can you give specific amounts for your recipe. How many cups of apples. How many cranberries & pomagranets? How much sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg & brown sugar?
Thanks
