I found a small mold on Etsy... And just googled a recipe for sugar molding. It only took two tries. :-)

I know combining the two holidays was weird. The birthday girl wanted a cinco de mayo cake (as her birthday was that day) but wanted the colors and sugar skulls from the day of the dead. A unique paring that actually worked well together. :-)

Love this...very well done Trishelle. But your info is slightly wrong.

 Cinco De Mayo is May 5th a celebration of a famous battle, and a day of pride for Mexicans

Day of the dead is  Nov 1, 1 day after Halloween. I was in Mexico for both those celebrations.  :0)
