Hi Again, To make the curlicues I made a long gumpaste sausage thicker on one end and thinner on the other.  I then, starting with the thin side, form the curl. I cut about two inches of skewer, moisten the pointed end and inserted into the thicker end of the curlicue.  I place the curlicues on a pile of corn starch to dry. The corn starch will prevent the curlicue, or any gumpaste decoration, from getting a flat side.  I let it dry for about 24 hours, turning it afer 12 hours to dry evenly. I make these decoration a week in advance. After they are dry I insert then on a piece of styrofoam.
